Finding Our Way 

Board vice president Maggie Steffen is happy to report that we now have 63 new road signs in place. Many thanks to Maggie, to TVPOA secretary Connie Schmitz and to members Stan Fitzgerald and Nan Fitzpatrick who helped with this task.

 

The project provided an opportunity to do some archival research on street name spellings to honor both tradition and historical precedence. 

 

The group worked through the winter with Sign Magic Inc., in Tucson, directing the company to locate a contemporary font in keeping with the original sign lettering. Mission accomplished, as you can see in the photo below.

A fresh coat of paint on the signposts completed the project.
